Internet Virtual Private Network (iVPN) is a Virtual Private Network using Dynamic Multipoint-VPN technology. Utilizing the public internet to the fullest while maintaining any-to-any connectivity, security is done through IPSec, protecting the VPN via protocols, passwords and encryption.
A virtual network operator is a reseller of network services from other telecommunications suppliers that does not own the telecommunication infrastructure. In addition it provides managed telecommunication services. Since 2008, Expereo owns, manages and operates Points of Presence or POPs and therefore is no longer 100 percent virtual, but instead hybrid.
Ethernet is a technology used to set up local area networks, originally developed by Xerox. A standard RJ45 cable can be used to connect a wide variety of devices, such as computers, printers, and servers. However, Ethernet can also be used over wireless networks. Ethernet is becoming more and more important as an access technology, because of its reliability, its cost-speed ratio and its possibilities to upgrade.
GEX stands for Global Ethernet eXchange, Expereo’s platform which meets all requirements for interoperability and deployment by the Metro Ethernet Forum. Expereo uses its Global Availability Checker to track the availability of its suppliers Ethernet access services.
Global Internet Mobile is a managed internet access service by Expereo using 3G and 4G technology; which allows customers to establish secure high speed VPN connections to global MPLS WANs.
The Internet is a worldwide system of connected IP networks, consisting of private, public, business and government networks over fixed lines, wireless and optical connections, linked through peering points. The internet is the largest network in the world.
Optimized IP is a managed internet access service which allows our customers to make use of the best connection available.
The Remote Management System enables clients of Expereo to monitor their internet connections on a real-time basis, analyze traffic, availability and performance and collect data for their own reporting systems.
Services include connections through DSL, cable, private line, Ethernet, wireless and satellite. Expereo’s also provides secure mobile connections, based on 3G and 4G technology, and offers the possibility to set up Virtual Private Networks through the internet as an alternative for expensive MPLS VPN connections or for back-up VPNs.
Expereo is a privately owned leading global hybrid virtual network operator, specialized in “last mile” solutions for the international carriers and system integrators in over 200 countries. The company was founded in 2004 by Alphons Mulders and Walter Brunink, who are currently Expereo’s Chief Product Officer and Chief Financial Officer. Raj Raithatha is Expereo’s Chief Executive Officer, Jan van Berne is Chief Development Officer and Guillaume Bruens is Chief Operating Officer. In addition to our global headquarters in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, we have offices in Singapore, USA, U.A.E, Russia and Mexico.
Unlike business grade xDSL internet connections, most mobile (3G/4G) networks do not support unique static public IP-addresses, which makes it difficult to use these services for VPN purposes. Expereo’s Global Internet Mobile service solves this problem, enabling an easy integration with standard IP VPN (off net) configurations.
