Since 2019 we proudly worked together with the Climate Neutral Group to provide efficient cookstoves in Uganda. The objective is to help the local households to access to cleaner, healthier and more cost-effective cooking methods.

Why did we choose this?

Globally, four million people die from respiratory diseases caused by cooking over an open fire. Usually indoors. By participating in this project, we help not only families to stay healthy and cleaner but also the local economy and employment.

Social and Economic impact

  • The cookstoves improve the living conditions of women and children by reducing the time they spend collecting firewood and cooking.
  • Therefore, they have more time for other things, including finding employment, studying, and being an active part of their family.
  • This project also contributes to local employment opportunities in manufacturing and sales.
  • Finally, using less wood and charcoal positively affects people’s disposable incomes. These savings can be invested in education and other crucial household expenses.

Besides improving people’s health, these cookstoves help fight deforestation and reduce the amount of greenhouse gas emissions in the atmosphere, by so combatting climate change.

Sustainable development

Efficient cookstoves in Uganda contributes to seven of the sixteen Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Future plans

Our plan is to continue working with CNG, but also participate in various CSR programs, philanthropy, and volunteer efforts. In Expereo we believe that more people should have access to equal opportunities so that everyone can benefit from a society where they are able to reach their full potential.
